Annually, the Fraser Institute creates a "report card" that measures performance in Canadian schools.
The 2006 Report Card on Alberta's High Schools uses a number of variables to rank Alberta's 270 public, separate, private, and Francophone schools. By doing so, the Fraser Institute hopes to assist parents in the choosing of schools. The institute also hopes that such a document encourages all schools to strive for success.
A list of Alberta's top ten schools, according to the Fraser Institute, is below:
1. Old Scona, Edmonton 1. Strathcona-Tweedsmuir School, Okotoks 1. Rundle College, Calgary 4. Webber Academy, Calgary 5. West Island College, Calgary 5. Bawlf School, Bawlf 5. Archbishop MacDonald, Edmonton 8. Bearspaw Christian, Calgary 8. Sainte Marguerite d'Youville, St. Albert 9. Calmar, Calmar
