War of the Spanish Succession . The fief was claimed by theHouse of Habsburg and theHouse of Bourbon . In 1712Luxemburg and Namur were ceded toMaximilian II Emanuel, Elector of Bavaria by his French allies, but with the end of the war in 1713 with the Treaty of Utrecht Max. Emanuel was restored Elector of Bavaria. So the Treaty of Utrecht settled the succession and the Margraviate0 of Namur went to the Austrian branch of the House of Habsburg.* 1714-1740 : Charles IV, great grandson of Philip III
