Wyoming Public Radio is a public radio network licensed to the University of Wyoming and heard throughout most of the state on 23 radio transmitters and on the internet.

Programming and Operation

From its offices at station KUWR in Laramie, the network produces local news and musical programing, as well as carries numerous news and entertainment programs from National Public Radio, Public Radio International, and American Public Media. Some NPR and PRI programing includes Morning Edition, Talk of the Nation, All Things Considered, American Routes, BBC News, and many others. Wyoming Public Radio was founded in 1966, and the station's format is similar to that of many other American public radio stations. Although licensed to the University, the network does not produce student-derived programming. Twice a year, in the Fall and in the Spring, the station conducts Pledge Drives, which is where a majority of the station's budget comes from.

It is the only public radio network produced in Wyoming, although other public radio networks (including Yellowstone Public Radio, KUER-FM, KUNC, and KUVO) are also broadcast in some parts of state.
