Preston and Wyre Joint Railway in the parish of Lea and Cottam inPreston ,Lancashire . It opened soon after the line opened in 1840, and closed on2 May 1938 (Biddle, p.56; Welch, p.23).No obvious remains of the station exist; a wasteground and "The Cotty Brook" public house are to one side, and a private housing development is on the other. The former entrances can be identified through the different style bricks used to stop-up the tunnels adjacent to the footpath.
Lea is pronounced "Leah" (IPAEng|lɪə).
