Culture strike

Culture strike

A culture strike involves the refusal of artists or art institutions (arts organizations, festivals etc.) to respectively produce and show art.

In October 2005 art institutions in Italy held a culture strike in response to a proposal of the Italian government to cut the budget of a special arts fund by 40 percent. [1]
