Controversy

The August 2008 issue of Cat Fancy featured a Javanese on the cover and a profile of the breed. The issue was scheduled to be on newsstands from July 2, 2008 until August 12, 2008 when it would be replaced with the September 2008 issue. On the July 22, 2008 episode of CBS’s The Early Show, Susan Logan, current Cat Fancy Editor, announced that the magazine would be pulled from shelves earlier due to ownership conflicts on certain articles and pictures. The issue was removed from newsstands 2 weeks earlier than planned, July 28, 2008, before a September issue could be readied for distribution. Fact|date=August 2008
