- Vision training
Vision training (see also visual therapy or vision therapy) is the training of visual perception and recognition, and is used throughout the optical world as a method of training the eye. First conceived in the US, as a method of increasing the performance of
fighter pilots by theUS Airforce , it has now been transferred into the private sector. Vision training has many different uses, such as;Dyslexia correction, sports vision and learning help. Although the latter is primarily used in the US, the other two are becoming popular in the UK. Currently there is no governmental support fordyslexia or sports vision enhancements. However manyuniversities are now providing grants towards the cost for their students. Most practioners of VT are also members of either the OEP ( [http://www.oep.org Optometric Extension Program Foundation] ) or the COVD ( [http://www.covd.org College of Optometrists in Vision Development] ).External links
