Alternative Education Programs
Steel Center Vocational Technical Facility is an option for students in the eleventh through twelfth grades to learn trades to become: mechanics, electricians, butchers, and beauticians. Job placement from this facility is very high and students can expect to receive professional training in their trade while still attending school to graduate with a high school degree. Steel Tech is one of the few technical facilities to allow students to "major" in law.
Another option for students, is training for career placement at a multifaceted, inter-borough facility, the mall. Graduation results in a quick career placement in one of the many sales and service sectors of the facility’s operation. Notable graduation speakers include Ken Rice of KDKA’s News and Hometown High Q program.
