Cytyc Corporation was a company engaged in the design, development, manufacture, and marketing of clinical products that focus on women’s health. Its products covered a range of women's health applications, including cervical cancer screening, breast cancer risk assessment, treatment of excessive menstrual bleeding, and treatment of breast cancer. Cytyc was incorporated in 1987 and was headquartered in Marlborough, Massachusetts.

Hologic/Cytyc Merger

On May 20, 2007, Cytyc merged with Hologic.

  • ThinPrep System - Used in cytology testing applications, such as cervical cancer screening.
  • FirstCyte Breast Test - Used for breast cancer risk assessment by detecting atypical changes in cells lining a woman's milk ducts.
  • NovaSure System - Treats women suffering from excessive menstrual bleeding in a minimally invasive manner to eliminate or reduce their bleeding.
  • MammoSite Radiation Therapy System - A single-use device for the treatment of early-stage breast cancer.
