Frank Leonard Bathe (born September 27, 1954 in Oshawa, Ontario) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman who played 224 NHL games with the Detroit Red Wings and Philadelphia Flyers.

Playing career

Frank was known as a fighter and a hard-nosed player. Sporting a full beard and a head of shaggy red hair made him a true standout on the ice. A back injury ended Frank's career in 1984. Currently residing in Southern Maine, Bathe is a successful business owner and a proud father of four. His son, Landon Bathe, followed in his foot steps to the NHL only to encounter a similar career-ending injury. Frank still plays in fund raiser games in Maine and in the games he has played in he has averaged 1 goal a game. His game high is 3.
