"60 Minutes and the Assassination of Werner Erhard", subtitled "How America's Top Rated Television Show was Used in an Attempt to Destroy a Man who was Making a Difference," is a book about Werner Erhard by Jane Self published in 1992 by Breakthru Publishing. The title refers to a March 3, 1991 broadcast of 60 Minutes, which examined controversial aspects of Erhard's personal and business life.

In this book, allegations that were made against Werner Erhard are addressed by the journalist Jane Self, Ph.D.

In "Stripping the Gurus", Geoffrey Falk said Self "offered a staunch defense of Erhard against the uncomplimentary picture of him painted by the media. There, she alleges that the orchestration of his downfall can be found within the Church of Scientology." [Geoffrey D. Falk, " [http://www.strippingthegurus.com/stgsamplechapters/est.asp Stripping the Gurus] " Ch. 4., 2006.]
