In 1988, at the age of 19, he made the biggest move of his career when then-Everton managerColin Harvey signed him as cover for first-choiceNeville Southall .Although he only made three appearances in the league, Kearton spent eight years at
Goodison Park , including a successful loan stint at Stoke City (keeping six clean sheets in sixteen appearances for the Potters).Over the course of the next five years, three more loan periods were spent at Blackpool, Notts County and Preston North End.
In 1995, Kearton signed for
