Politics of Tajikistan
Tajikistan is divided into 3 provinces (Tajik: Вилоят, "viloyat", plural: Вилоятҳо, "viloyatho") and one autonomous province (viloyati mukhtor). Additionally, Dushanbe, the capital city, is independent of viloyat-level administrative divisions.

Each region is divided into districts ("raion" or "nohiya"), which are further subdivided into "jamoats", and then villages ("qyshloqs"). Tajikistan has a total of 59 districts.
