Aaron debuted for Bradford in 2003 as the Bulls won 52-6 over Huddersfield. The following season he won the World Club Championship, starting at hooker in a 22-4 success over Penrith Panthers.
Smith later moved to Castleford and played 23 games during the Tigers 2005 promotion campaign. After starting the following season in Super League, Aaron requested release from his contract and it took an offer from Whitehaven to tempt him back into the game.
Aaron enjoyed a solid stint at the Recreation Ground, playing 43 times in two years. During the past season he was rated in the top twenty-five National League One players by the Rugby League World magazine. 2004 World Club Challenge Winners
