R. J. Cutler

R. J. Cutler is a television- and filmmaker. He specializes in film documentaries and "serious reality TV". "The War Room" is a documentary which showed the 1992 presidential campaign of Bill Clinton. "American High" is a documentary about the lives of students in Highland Park, Illinois. Cutler used the innovative technique of giving video cameras to fourteen students and allowing them to record footage which he then edited into the final product. "Black. White." was a television series on FX television and featured two families--one white, the other black--who traded places and races. He also produced "Greatest American Dog".

Cutler is also a producer of numerous television programs. He has won an Emmy Award, a Peabody Award, and been nominated for an Academy Award, two other Emmys, two GLAAD Awards, an Independent Spirit Award, and a Producers Guild Award.
