*17 July 1976 - Peter McElcar (24) and Patrick Cannon (20), both members of the Provisional Irish Republican Army, were killed in a premature bomb explosion while travelling in a car, Castlederg.1984
*14 July 1984 - Norman McKinley (32) and Heather Kerrigan (20), both Protestant members of the Ulster Defence Regiment, were killed in a Provisional Irish Republican Army land mine attack on their foot patrol, near Castlederg.
