He played during one season (1992) at the major league level for the Texas Rangers. He was signed by the Montreal Expos as an amateur free agent in 1986. León played his first professional season (in American baseball) with their Rookie league Gulf Coast Expos in 1986, and his last season with the Pittsburgh Pirates' Triple-A Nashville Sounds in 2000.
