- Emperor Bing of Song
Emperor Bing (zh-c|c=宋帝昺) (1271 –
March 19 ,1279 ) was the last emperor of theSouthern Song Dynasty ofChina . He was also known as Lord Perpetual-Nation (永國公 yongguo gong).Born Zhào Bǐng (趙昺) to Emperor Duzong, he was the younger brother of his predecessor, Duanzong. He became Prince Xin (信王) in 1274. Two years later, he received the titles of Prince Guang (廣王) and Prince Wei (衛王). He was enthroned at
Gangzhou onMay 10 ,1278 . Hisera name was "Xiángxīng" (祥興).In the History of the Song Empire (宋史) compiled under the Mongol Prime Minister Toktoghan (脫脫), Emperor Bing was said to have died at the
Battle of Yamen in March 19, 1279.
