Pnei Kedem

Pnei Kedem

Pnei Kedem ( _he. פני קדם), is an Israeli settlement south of Bethlehem in the West Bank located in the eastern Judean Mountains near the Arugot Stream at an elevation of 900 metres above sea level.

The village was built in October 2000 with assistance from Amana within the boundaries of the nearby Israeli settlement of Metzad and on adjacent state-owned lands. As Israeli authorities do not recognize the village as an independent settlement, the CBS counts its residents as living in Metzad. It is home to nineteen families.

The population of Pnei Kedem receives its municipal services from the Gush Etzion Regional Council.

4000 Olive trees were recently planted on state-owned lands, allotted for this purpose.

Pnei Kedem holds an annual kite festival during Chol HaMoed Sukkot which attracts thousands of participants.
