Stoneybridge

Stoneybridge (Gaelic: "Staoinebrig") is a small town in Scotland, situated on the isle of South Uist.

The town was referenced in the Scottish comedy series Absolutely, which used the town as the base for one of the recurring sketches in the show. This portrayal of Stoneybridge was intended as a satire of local politics and the petty Bonapartism of local council leaders. The cast were unaware of the existence of a real Stoneybridge when writing the original scripts, and the Stoneybridge in the show is located near the Yetts o' Muckhart placing it in Clackmannanshire.

A small country road branching from the A865 leads into Stoneybridge and past Loch Ollay before rejoining with the A865.
