Calgary, AlbertaJessica Shaia "Jessi" Cruickshank (born July 17, 1983 in Calgary, Alberta) is a Canadian television personality. She is the former co-host of MTV Canada's program The After Show and its various incarnations including The Hills: The After Show and The City: Live After Show with co-host Dan Levy. Jessi is now living in Los Angeles, where she filmed a show "Hollywood Survival Guide," which aired on MTV. To accommodate her new life Jessi passed the California driving test on January 26, 2011.
Jessi has interviewed an array of high-profile people from the pop culture spectrum including the cast of The Hills and the movie Twilight, along with Adam Lambert, Taylor Lautner, Backstreet Boys, Ryan Reynolds, Bill Gates, Zac Efron, Jamie Foxx, Whitney Port, Lauren Conrad and Bradley Cooper. One of her Hollywood crushes is Brody Jenner, who she has openly expressed her love for on "The After Show."
Previously, Jessi was one of the original seven co-hosts of MTV's flagship series MTV Live, which is now hosted by fellow MTV hosts Daryn Jones, Nicole Holness, and Paul “The Intern” Lemieux.
Her mother is Joyce Resin, who once hosted a CBC show called Alive: The Picture of Health.[1] Her older sister Amanda Grace works as a reporter and anchor for WHDH in Boston.[2] She has a degree in English and Drama from the University of Toronto;[3] she spent her first year of university at Herstmonceux Castle in England.[4]
Her first television role was in a Christmas commercial for Shoppers Drug Mart. During her teen years, she had a small role in a made-for-TV movie called For Hope which was directed by Bob Saget.[5] She later said, "I had three lines, and two of them didn’t make the final cut.” She was also a member of the same high school improv squad as Seth Rogen.
Before joining MTV, Jessi was a co-host on YTV for a show called Weird on Wheels along with Mackay Taggart (which she snagged after attending auditions with a friend).
Jessi played Kristin in The Rest of My Life, a TV movie concluding the 9th season of Degrassi: The Next Generation. The movie aired in Canada on MuchMusic on July 16, 2010, and in the United States on TeenNick it aired on July 19, 2010.
