Maroondah Secondary College is located on Brentnall Road, off Maroondah Highway, in Croydon, Victoria. The first principal was Harry Fletcher, and the school was originally known as Croydon West high school until 1973 when the name was changed Maroondah High school. The school entrance is in Croydon west, but the School building itself is in Ringwood East.
Maroondah Secondary College is a medium sized school, able to offer a breadth of programs you would expect from larger schools, yet still small enough to provide individual care for your child. A quality education is provided to all our students. Our VCE results and Tertiary entrance offers are consistently well above the state average.
The College complex is situated in a quiet, attractive location, easily accessible by public transport and has well maintained classrooms and grounds. Our tradition of excellence, now exceeding 40 years, comes from both a dedicated and professional teaching team and great facilities; to provide students with the right foundation for success in a rapidly changing world.
A core curriculum at Years 7 and 8 ensures maximum involvement in the eight National Key Learning Areas. At Years 9 and 10 students are given counselled, structured choices within and across the Learning Areas. Individual needs and aspirations can be met within a broad and balanced curriculum.
The school offers a full range of both VCE and VCAL programs to students, but with a limited range of subjects. Additionally they include the opportunity to complete TAFE certificates in conjunction with the VCE. Vocational Education and Training
