Norwood profile

Norwood Secondary College, in the City of Maroondah is a single campus coeducational Years 7-12 College with an enrolment of 10 students.

Future development

In 2009, plans unveiled as part of the Maroondah Education Coalition, plans were for the current Norwood site to be closed and sold off. The building was to either be demolished, or sold of and turned into a Chinese university. A new super-school was then going to be built on the site of Parkwood Secondary College, where the Parkwood buildings would be upgraded to accommodate both Norwood and Parkwood Students. The proposed name of the school was to be called "MEC Norwood".

In 2010, it was announced that these plans were scraped by the Maroondah Education Coalition, due to the fact that the government could not afford to spend the money.[citation needed]
