Pimp Tax

Pimp Tax is an informal but widespread term for a piece of United States Congress tax legislation introduced to the Senate Finance Committee on June 28, 2006 by Republican Senator Charles Grassley of Iowa. According to Grassley [cite web|url=http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/06/27/pimp.tax/|title=Senator seeks tax on pimps, prostitutes (cnn.com)|accessdate=2006-08-17] [cite web|url=http://grassley.senate.gov/index.cfm?FuseAction=PressReleases.Detail&PressRelease_id=5114|accessdate=2006-08-17|title=Grassley Press Release on the "Pimp Tax"] , the bill is intended to curb sex trafficking and sex slavery in the United States by means of strict enforcement of tax laws, for example by requiring a W-2 form be filed for each prostitute managed by a pimp or other employer.

The American Internal Revenue Service has been used in the past to target criminals, most famously Al Capone.

The slang term "Pimp Tax" was parodied on an episode of the Daily Show on American cable television. On an episode aired August 14th, Dan Bakkedahl interviewed Republican Congressperson Jack Kingston of Georgia and Arch Bishop Don Magic Juan on the subject.
