Girl With A One-Track Mind

Girl With A One-Track Mind is a blog by Abby Lee (pen name of Zoe Margolis, born 14 December 1972), in which the author writes in detail about her life as a sexually active young woman in London. The blog has won praise for its keen psychological insights into male and female sexuality, as well as for the author's earthy humour. It claims over 250,000 readers a month, and won the "Best British or Irish Blog" award at the 2006 and 2007 Bloggies.

In August 2006, Lee published the text of the blog as a book with the same name. It was published by Ebury Press on 3 August 2006 (ISBN 0-09-191240-7) and immediately entered the British best seller lists. British news reports claimed it attracted a "six figure" (pounds) advance.Fact|date=December 2007

Soon after the book was published, the "Sunday Times" published an article [cite web | url=http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,2087-2300782,00.html | date=2006-08-06 | author=Anna Mikhailova | title=By day she worked on Harry Potter. But by night... | publisher="The Sunday Times" | accessdate=2008-01-01 ] which revealed the identity of the author as Zoe Margolis, an assistant director in the film industry. Margolis was traumatised by the identification cite web | url=http://girlwithaonetrackmind.blogspot.com/2006/08/outed.html | title=Outed | publisher=Girl With A One-Track Mind | date=2006-08-06 | author=Abby Lee | accessdate=2008-01-01] and temporarily went into hiding. She continues, however, to write the blog.

In 2007, the book was published in the United States under the title "Diary of a Sex Fiend: Girl with a One Track Mind" and the author was featured [cite web | url=http://www.newyorker.com/talk/2007/03/12/070312ta_talk_toobin | publisher ="The New Yorker" | title=British Import | date=2007-03-12 | author=Jeffrey Toobin | accessdate=2008-01-01] in The New Yorker magazine.

Since her real identity was revealed, she has continued writing, contributing a story to the Comic Relief book Shaggy Blog Stories [cite web | url=http://girlwithaonetrackmind.blogspot.com/2007/03/shaggy-blog.html | author=Abby Lee | publisher=Girl With A One-Track Mind | accessdate=2008-01-01 | title=Shaggy Blog | date=2007-03-16] , and writing an occasional column under her real name for The Guardian [cite web | author=Zoe Margolis | title=(list of columns) | publisher=The Guardian | url=http://commentisfree.guardian.co.uk/zoe_margolis/ | accessdate=2008-01-01] . She has also become an occasional "de facto" spokeswoman for a variety of anonymous bloggers, and has appeared in the Channel 4 documentary The Sex Blog Girls [cite web | url=http://girlwithaonetrackmind.blogspot.com/2007_12_01_archive.html | author=Abby Lee | publisher=Girl With A One-Track Mind | accessdate=2008-01-01 | title=Welcome Channel 4 viewers | date=2007-12-11] with other (anonymous) bloggers including two whose work Lee has discussed - Belle de Jour, whose successful maintenance of her anonymity was a theme around the time of the Sunday Times article, and Bitchy Jones, whose writing Lee has recommended or praised on a number of occasions [cite web | url=http://girlwithaonetrackmind.blogspot.com/2007/03/bitchy.html | author=Abby Lee | publisher=Girl With A One-Track Mind | accessdate=2008-01-01 | title=Bitchy | date=2007-03-26] , [cite web | author = Abby Lee | title=Label | date=2007-11-09 | publisher=Girl With A One-Track Mind | url=http://girlwithaonetrackmind.blogspot.com/2007_11_01_archive.html | accessdate=2008-01-01] .
