Kimitsu (君津郡; -gun) was a district in Japan. The district was dissolved
April 1 ,1991 when the town of Sodegaura gained city status.The cities of Kisarazu, Futtsu, Kimitsu, and Sodegaura cover the entire district.
Area
The district areas are equivalent to present day cities of Kisarazu, Futtsu, Kimitsu, and Sodegaura.
History

November 3 ,1942 -The municipalities of Kisarazu, Takene, Kiyokawa, and Namioka merged to form the city of Kisarazu.
*September 1 ,1971 -The towns of Kimitsu and Futtsu gained city status.
*April 1 ,1991 -The town of Sodegaura gained city status, the district was thereby dissolved.
