Currently the company has over two million subscribers and is growing fast.
In the process of deploying the technology, Mobile-8 strategically teams up with Qualcomm as its supplier of the CDMA technology and Korea Telecom Freetel (KTF) as its Operation & Maintenance consultant.
Mobile-8 deploys CDMA2000 1x and CDMA2000 1x EV-DO technology which is supported by close to 465 BTS within Java and surrounding islands. Currently the company has plans to expand throughout the Indonesian archipelago within the next year or two starting with Sumatra, Kalimantan, and Sulawesi

Owner
PT Mobile-8 Telecom Tbk is 67% owned by PT Global Mediacom Tbk until 2009[1].Since 2009, Mobile-8 is owned by Sinar Mas Group who owned Smart Telecom and in 2011, PT Mobile-8 Telecom Tbk is renamed into PT Smartfren Telecom Tbk.
