Jammikunta is a town and Mandal in
Karimnagar District in the Indian state ofAndhra Pradesh . It is a small town with a population just above 50,000. Jammikunta is the centre for trade and education for 60 odd surrounding villages.LOCATION & TRANSPORTATION:
Jammikunta is located in the northern part of Andhra Pradesh in Karimnagar District. Despite being a small town, Jammikunta is well connected to major cities of the country by railways. Jammikunta railway station is along one of busiest rail routes in India which connects the southern metropolis Hyderabad, Chennai and Bangalore to the northern part of the country.
ECONOMY:
Primary occupation of people comprises Agriculture and Business. Economy is mainly dependent on Agriculture and trade between farmers from the surrounding villages and the Enterprises running Oil, Rice and Cotton mills, Dairy Farm, Leather Factory, Weavers Societies, FCI, Hand Made Works, Swetha Jardosh Works, etc., major constituent to the economy. EDUCATION:
Catering to the educational needs of the 60 odd villages around, Jammikunta is growing in stature as one of the major educational centers in the Karimanager district. Now 6 Intermediate colleges and 3 Degree colleges are there in Jammikunta. Day by day its literacy rate also increased.
