Saint Eoghan (Eugene), also known as Eoghan of Ardstraw was an Irishman who lived in the sixth century AD and was said to have been taken by pirates to Britain [cite web

Returning to Ireland, he made a foundation at Kilnamanagh, in the Wicklow hills, but his principal foundation was at Ardstraw (Ard Sratha), County Tyrone, where he served as bishop until his death.
