The Second Virginia Charter shows James, the King of England, Scotland, France and Ireland, who gave greetings to many explorers and adventureres to join the Second Virginia Charter of
London .James wrote that the people shall create their colony and to make habitation and plantation in Virginia.
Commands of the Second Virginia Charter
The land of Virginia was granted to Sir Thomas Gates, Sir George Somers and others, for a "speedy" process of plantation. The people that signed the charter split into two colonies; One consisting of "divers, Knights, gentlemen, merchants and others in the city of London, called the First Colony"; and the other of "Knights, gentlemen and others of the cities of Bristol, Exeter, the town of Plymouth, and other places, called the Second Colony".
