She is best known for her portrayal in 1997 and 1998 of 'Number One', leader of the Mars Resistance, in the television series Babylon 5.[1][2]
Other science fiction roles were as 'JoJo Thorson' in the 1993 series Space Rangers, where reviewers remarked on her portrayal of JoJo as a "low-voiced feminist blond bombshell" [3] and as Kathleen Ryan in the 1999 series Rescue 77 where a reviewer said her "tough, thoughtul performance" was the only saving grace of a "generic action series."[4] She appeared in an episode of Star Trek: Voyager. She is blonde and has blue eyes. She also performs in theater and plays the guitar.
Monaghan was considered for the role of T'Pol in Star Trek: Enterprise.[5]
