Kendleton Independent School District is a public school district based in unincorporated Fort Bend County, Texas, United States, north of the city of Kendleton. The district serves Kendleton and the unincorporated community of Powell Point.
The district has one school, Powell Point Elementary, which serves students in grades pre-kindergarten through six.
The Lamar Consolidated Independent School District serves Kendleton ISD secondary school students (Grades 7-12).
Academic performance issues
The district was rated academically unacceptable in 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008. The "Houston Chronicle" stated that if performance does not improve within the next school year, the state may close KISD.
