It won the 1965Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album .Jerry Seinfeld states in the inner sleeve of his album "I'm Telling You for the Last Time " that this was the first comedy album he ever listened to, and that it subsequently helped inspire him to become a stand-up comedian. Seinfeld was finally able to meet Cosby in person in 2002.The track "Hofstra" is actually an expanded re-telling of the track released on "
I Started Out as a Child " as "T.V. Football", showcasing Cosby's growing ability to tell a story.The release of this album occurred around the time that Cosby moved into the acting arena with his role as Alexander Scott in the TV series "
