German submarine U-405

"Unterseeboot 405" was a Type VIIC submarine of the Kriegsmarine during World War II.

Commissioned on 17 September 1941, commanded by Korvettenkapitän Rolf-Heinrich Hopmann, she was rammed and sunk by the destroyer USS|Borie|DD-215 on 1 November 1943. All hands were lost.
