- Edgar Dewitt Jones
Edgar Dewitt Jones (1876-1956) was an American clergyman and author, born at Hearne, Tex., and educated at
Transylvania University where he was a member of the Alpha-Omicron Chapter ofKappa Sigma Fraternity , University of Missouri andIllinois Wesleyan University . He became a minister of the Disciples of Christ denomination in 1901 and heldpastor ates inKentucky ,Ohio ,Illinois , andMichigan . During 1915-16 he was president of the Illinois Convention of the Disciples, and from 1917 to 1919 of the International Convention of the Disciples. In 1922 he joined the staff of the "Detroit News". His writings include:
