The first settlers of the "Gary area" thought it mandatory that all people have ready access to libraries. This is the case today as Gary residents have access to two library systems as well as one university library.
Gary Public Library System
the Gary Public Library System ( GPL )is located in Gary,
Indiana . Though in Lake County Gary has its own library system separate from the county system.
