The Adelaide Comets are a football (soccer) club from Adelaide, South Australia. Comets play in the FFSA South Australian State League. They play home games at Santos Stadium in Adelaide's west. They are new to State competition and used to play in the Amateur League.

History

The Adelaide Comets was formed in 1994 and were known as the Adelaide Raiders Soccer Club. To avoid confusion with another local soccer club which plays under the name of "Raiders", the playing name was changed to Adelaide Comets in 2001 when the club first fielded junior teams. Adelaide Comets now is one of the largest junior based clubs, with 18 teams. In 2007 Comets gained promotion to the FFSA Premier League, the second tier of South Australian football.
