Van der Moolen is a Dutch equity trading firm, with its headquarters located in Amsterdam. They are mainly active in the United States and in Europe, particularly in the Netherlands, France, Germany, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

In 2003, Van der Moolen became subject to an investigation by the SEC on allegations of front running. In 2004, Van der Moolen reached a settlement with the SEC and paid a fine of $57.7 million. On August 1 2006, a former trader with Van der Moolen, Robert Scavone Jr., was acquitted of charges of front running public orders in Eli Lilly and Company. The jury deliberated only 45 minutes before reaching this verdict.
