Career

Radio

Bickmore started her career as the afternoon newsreader for Melbourne radio station Nova 100 and in 2002 she became co-host of Nova's drive show. She was a 2005 Best News Presenter finalist in the Australian Commercial Radio Awards. [Media Release, [http://www.commercialradio.com.au/pdf/PRfinalist2308.pdf Finalists announced for 2005 Radio Awards] , 26 July 2005] Bickmore and Rebecca Leahy accepted the award for Best Community Service Project - Metro, on behalf of Nova 100. Television

In 2006 Bickmore made her foray into television on variety show "Rove Live", presenting the Carrie @ the News Desk segment for each episode. Her voice, behaviour and appearance for this segment were a parody of Channel Ten newsreader Sandra Sully. Often the news stories relate to actual events, but end in a twist as the punch line. A running joke throughout the segment is Carrie's quirky introductions in which she adds a quip, often playing off of social trends, music and popular culture. In 2007, Bickmore returned to the show with a more important role. While she still stars in the news segment, it is no longer done as a Sandra Sully parody.

Other

Bickmore is the regular presenter on "Skybus TV", a tourism information video about Melbourne that is played to all passengers travelling on "Skybus", the main public transport service between Melbourne Airport and the CBD.
