Wallace Bean Potts (b.
February 4 ,1947 inBirmingham, Alabama - d.June 29 ,2006 inLos Angeles, California ) was an American film director, screenwriter, and archivist.Potts graduated "summa cum laude" from
Georgia Institute of Technology inAtlanta with a degree in physics before attending film school at theUniversity of California at Los Angeles . His first professional position was as first assistant director on the 1972 film of the ballet Don Quixote, which starred his then-loverRudolf Nureyev . He worked in a number of production positions for various directors before venturing into independent film-making with the 1976 film "More, More, More".
