She is the author of three novels, "The Keep", "
The Invisible Circus ", and "Look at Me", which was a finalist for theNational Book Award , and a short story collection, "Emerald City". "The Keep" (2006), her most recent book, received favorable reviews from publications including "The New York Times Book Review" [http://www.nytimes.com/2006/07/30/books/review/30bell.html?ex=1156132800&en=5ebb02e43e212fd4&ei=5070] . She has published short fiction in "The New Yorker ", "Harper's", "Zoetrope All-Story ", and "Ploughshares ", among others, and herjournalism appears frequently in "The New York Times Magazine ".She is the recipient of a
National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship and aGuggenheim Fellowship and was recently a fellow at the Dorothy and Lewis B. Cullman Center for Scholars and Writers at theNew York Public Library . She lives inBrooklyn with her husband and sons.External links
