Music teacherStyle classical music Partner Galina Petrova Maxim Fedotov is a Russian violinist and conductor,Peoples Artist of Russia, son of the conductor Viktor Fedotov. Fedotov studied at the Special Music School in Leningrad and then at the Moscow Conservatory. As well as his career as a soloist, he is also Chief conductor of the Russian Symphony Orchestra(2003-2005)and Artistic Director and Chief conductor of the Moscow city symphony orchestra Russian Philharmonic Orchestra.(2006-Dec.2010).Professor of the Moscow Tchaikovsky-Conservatoire(since 1987).Professor and Head of Departmend of Violin and Viola of Russian Gnessin-Academia of Music(2003-2008). He is believed to be the first person (since Paganini himself) to give a recital on both the violins belonging to Paganini -one a Guarneri, the other a Vuillaume (in St. Petersburg in 2003).[http://www.fedotov-petrova.com . He has appeared in most of the major concert halls with many of the major orchestras of Russia, Europe as well as Japan; playing with a repertoire over fifty concertos. Fedotov's wife, the pianist,Merited Artist of Russia Galina Petrova.
Amongst the prizes he has won are:
- 1981: All-Union Violin Competition (Riga)
- 1982: N. Paganini International Competition (Genoa);
- 1984: G. Viotti International Chamber Ensemble Competition (Vercelli);
- 1986: First Prize, the Gold Medal, and all special prizes in the III International Violin Competition (Tokyo);
- 1986: Second Prize in the P. I. Tchaikovsky International Competition (Moscow).
- 2003: Fedotov-Petrova-duo----- Laureate of the Moscow Government Award(2003 )
