2008 presidential election

Jack Evans originally supported for Hillary Clinton for the Democratic nomination for president. In November 2007, a press release issued by Clinton's campaign included Evans in a list of co-chairs of the Washington DC for Hillary Steering Committee. In May 2008, Evans announced that he was now supporting Barack Obama for the Democratic nomination. Evans said the reason for the change was because the great majority of voters in his ward, Ward 2, had voted for Obama during the District primary in February. He also said he would prefer a Democrat, rather than a Republican, elected president. [Steward, Nikita.
