Yosemite Creek Campground, located in the northern area of Yosemite National Park along Tioga Road (HWY 120), is a first-come first-served campground outside of Yosemite Valley. This campground is remote, quiet, and less populated relative to other campgrounds in Yosemite. The campground is 4 miles off the main road and thus requires a very rough, single lane, downhill mostly unpaved drive to the campground. Yosemite Creek Campground is quite naturally directly along Yosemite Creek and therefore many of the sites inside the campground are directly alongside a running creek which can be used for dipping and fishing. Those looking to stay away from crowds/noise should consider this campground. The sites are green and somewhat shaded by the trees in the area. The nearest store is at White Wolf (approx. 6 miles) and it is about a 40 minute drive to Yosemite Valley. Yosemite Creek Campground is basically in a central location between the far east of Yosemite National Park (Tuolumne Meadows) and the most popular Yosemite Valley.
Each campsite contains a fire ring, picnic table, and food locker, and is near a vault toilet. Stream water must be treated (by boiling, using a filter, or using iodine). No potable water available. Pets are permitted. [cite web|url=http://www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/ycreekcamp.htm|title=Yosemite Creek Campground |accessed=May 4, 2007NPS]
