8th Street is a station currently under construction on the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail (HBLR) located at Avenue C and East 8th Street in Bayonne, New Jersey. It will be the new southern terminus for the route traveling northbound, end-to-end, towards Tonnelle Avenue.
An opening date for the station has not been set. Northbound service from the station will be available to Hoboken Terminal. Service will also be available to Tonnelle Avenue, in North Bergen, by transferring at stations between Liberty State Park and Pavonia-Newport for the West Side Avenue-Tonnelle Avenue route. The Liberty State Park station is a transfer point for those who will be traveling between stations on the West Side Avenue (Jersey City) and 22nd Street (Bayonne) extensions. Connection to PATH trains to midtown Manhattan and to New Jersey Transit commuter train service will be available at Hoboken Terminal. Transfers to PATH trains to Newark, Harrison, and downtown Manhattan will be available at Exchange Place.
