Kevin Sharkey ("Caoimhín Ó Searcaigh") (b. 1962 [http://www.warren-gallery.com/artist_display.asp?ArtistID=179 The Warren Gallery - Irish Art, Gallery, Irish Artists,William Crozier, Mike Fitzharris, Mieke Vermekelen, Tony O'Malley, William Scott, Matt Lamb, Ireland ] ] ) is an Irish painter and celebrity.

Born in Dublin, Sharkey was adopted and subsequently raised in the town of Killybegs, Donegal in the north-west of Ireland. A full-time artist for over 15 years, Sharkey was also formerly: a fisherman, a child chef, a songwriter (for artists including Boney M and Bob Geldof and his own band An Fear Dubh), as well as a nude model who was once photographed by legendary photographer David Bailey.

Sharkey has starred in the Irish reality television show Celebrity Farm. He also had a stint as co-host of the 1980s UK pop show The Roxy. He appeared in an episode of Father Ted, with a nun confusing him for an African priest (due to his skin colour), only to be corrected.

One of his paintings raised over €20,000 for People In Need in 2007. Some of his biggest fans include . [ [http://www.rte.ie/tv/latelate/20060113.html RTÉ Television - The Late Late Show ] ]

He is currently taking the Irish government to the European Court of Human Rights in a bid to legislate same-sex Civil Partnerships (thus allowing same-sex couples to have the same rights as opposite-sex couples) and bringing Ireland into line with other European countries including the UK and Spain. Initially he proclaimed that he was openly gay, citation |title=Celebrity painter to challenge ban on gay marriages |date=December 24, 2005 |url=http://www.independent.ie/national-news/celebrity-painter-to-challenge-ban-on-gay-marriages-227547.html |first=Allison |last=Bray |accessdate=2007-12-06 |periodical=The Irish Independent] and once dated former Police Constabulary Sergeant, Ade Antigha., however he later told the Evening Herald that he has been married to a woman before, and is currently engaged to a Macedonian (female) travel agent. He did, however, allude to his 11 year relationship with Antigha in the article.
