Andrew Phang

Judge of Appeal Justice Andrew Phang Boon Leong is a Judge of the Supreme Court of Singapore.

Born in Singapore in 1957, he received his LL.B. (First Class Honours) from the University of Singapore in 1982, before earning his LL.M. and S.J.D. from Harvard University in 1984 and 1988 respectively. Between 1982 to 2000, he taught at the National University of Singapore, and was appointed Professor of Law in 1999. He was appointed Professor of Law of the Singapore Management University in 2000, and made Chair of the Department of Law at the university's Business School in 2001. Together with Professor Tan Cheng Han, they were the pioneering academics to be conferred the title of Senior Counsel.

Justice Phang was appointed Judicial Commissioner in January 2005, Judge in December 2005, and Judge of Appeal in February 2006. He is one of the leading authorities in contract law in Singapore.
