Everglades High School is a public high school located in Miramar, Florida. The school serves approximately 3,100 students from both Miramar and Pembroke Pines in grades 9 through 12. The current school hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 2:40 p.m. The principal is Dr. Paul Fetscher.

The first president of Everglades was Emanuel Washington Jr in 2004. Flanagan High School Annex due to overpopulation. Another high school was constructed in Pembroke Pines, Florida, called West Broward High School to resolve the overcrowding issue. Everglades High is currently rated a B school by the state of Florida with 71% of the students passing the math FCAT and 41% of the students passing the reading FCAT. History

The temporary location was at the former Charles W. Flanagan High School and Annex because of the ongoing final construction of the Everglades main building. The School schedule was held in double sessions during the months at the annex because of the large population, where the class of 2007 freshman had classes from 12:00p.m. to 6:00p.m. and upperclassmen had classes from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The class of 2004 of Everglades supposedly had a total of 12 senior students.

Graduation Plaques

During the class of 2008 graduation, parents were offered the purchase of their son or daughter's graduation plaque, a shiny hardcover copy of the graduate's diploma, which could be easily hung or displayed on a wall. [ [http://www.browardschools.com/schools/dates.htm Graduation Information -->] ]

Athletics

Everglades High has a variety of varsity and junior varsity sports. The Everglades football stadium, which is named Eastern Financial Stadium at Everglades High School, was funded in the school's first year of existence by Eastern Financial.
