Nomis is an Australian football shoe manufacturer founded by former Adidas senior vice president Simon Skirrow. It distributes its shoes in the United Kingdom, United States, Germany, Australia and New Zealand.

Skirrow spent five years creating the boots, which are made from kangaroo leather. 'Nomis' is an anagram of 'Simon'. Nomis shoes are specifically developed for improved performance under wet conditions with the use of specially tanned leathers. But it was soon discovered that Skirrow never created any of the technologies and instead they were invented by people in the background.

Nomis has gone bankrupt and is about to cease operating. The Nomis Sports AG and Nomis Vertriebs AG - both headquartered in Zug, Switzerland - are bankrupt since November 2009. ^[1]

On February 1 2011, Nomis Football Australia reopened it's online Australian store ShopNomis with 40,000 pairs of boots on sale. Previous subscribers to ShopNomis received this email. International shipping is also available. The site now lists contact and copyright to P Sports Pty Ltd, 1/7 Bonnal Rd, Erina, NSW 2250.

Football superstar Harry Kewell used Nomis after turning down multi-million dollar offers from Adidas, Nike and Reebok. ^[2]

Nomis AG did go bankrupt in 2010 due to a dispute between the shareholders, but the original company was started in Australia and it is still functioning. It is now in a partnership with Rebel Sports Ltd., Rebel is offering new, technical cleated products to the Aussie market for use in football, Aussie Rules, bot Rugby codes and training shoes for those sports. They are still using the leather technology initiated by Simon Skirrow, the founder, the Dry and Wet touch Kangaroo leather products. They have added a variety of price points to enable the brand to be utilized by the whole market. They are offering the classic, Glove style as well as the Spark, a light weight style and the entry priced Instinct.

The brand is still being worn by top level athletes in various sports. The products are being produced in a top level factory in China that makes top level brands. They will launch a new line for the next summer' in Australia.
