"Life After Life : The Investigation of a Phenomenon—Survival of Bodily Death" is one of three books about near-death experiences (NDEs) written by Dr Raymond Moody.

In 1992 the book was made into a film of the same name, "Life After Life", [imdb title|1101651|Life After Life] for which Moody won a bronze medal in the Human Relations Category at the New York Film Festival.

One of the first to investigate and name the "Near Death Experience", Dr. Moody writes an intelligent and objective report on his initial studies (approximately 150 cases) of the phenomenon. This book is without the preaching and interpreting that fills many books on this subject. According to Moody's research there are 9 "points" or events that recurrently appear in the "NDE"s that he has researched. Not one person experienced all 9, some experienced only 2 or 3 while others experienced as many as 5 or 6. This "model" experience is described point by point using extensive quoting from people who have nearly died or "died" and been resuscitated.

Moody wrote a second book, "Reflections on Life After Life" (ISBN 0817714233) in 1977. In it, the number of recurring points increased to 15.
